Knowing something and being able to explain it are two very different skills.
Luckily for us, Bill Knudson can do both.
There’s a lot happening in the world right now – inflation, what’s going on in Iran, commodity markets – and most of it has big implications for the decisions we make at LANDCO NEXA. Figuring out what to focus on requires someone who can translate all of this complexity.
The thing I’ve always respected about Bill, our in-house economist, is how well he translates complex ideas into accessible ones.
He has a passion for statistics and a talent for taking all the moving pieces and laying them out in a way people can work with, without making anyone in the room feel like they should have already known what he’s explaining. He meets people where they are.
The work he put into our Capital Center is a good example of this in practice. That platform brings together economic data from housing starts to global indicators to commodities, and what makes it so useful is the thinking behind how to read it.
One more thing: our meetings with Bill tend to end with a lot of laughter. He’s a great sport and so fun to be in a room with.
Just like the ability to translate complexity, that’s rarer than most people think.
